: Hi,

: my company is a computer manufacturing company. We are using ariba buyer ( for all procurement functions) and we are using SAP R/3 at the backend for other functions like SD, FI/CO and some MM functions too.
: I am looking to find the different alternative integration solutions available for integrating ariba buyer and SAP R/3

: Can anyone please suggest me the various options available and the pros and cons of these options..
: Your replies will be higly helpful ..and lots of thanks in advance...Also please suggest if any good literature is available in the net on these and the sources.

Hi,
Can you be more specific, what your requirements are. We are using various integration software solutions in integration projects. Mostly it depends on the specific interface, the purpose behind it (volume, synchronous, asynchrone, ensured delivery, ...) and the preferences of the customer (products, existing solutions).
In the last integration projects with non SAP appl. systems (SCM, WMS, CRM, etc.) we used SAP Business Connector because it comes for free for all SAP customers. And because BC is haeavily used by SAP itself. (My company s SAP devlopment partner and we are involved in the SAP-Comerce One integration. We use BC there as well.)
Because SAP uses it for its own integration BC is a focus point for SAP development arround integration software.
BC uses xml data format as carrier, which is a standard and for most company disreable to use to protect future investment. Within BC I use diferent methods to map data, my own programs (Java Servlets) when I need more transactional delivery control between systems but have less performance issues (pipelining). XSLT when I need a better performance and when the focus might be a kind of trading partner solutions based on XBCL standards as busines documents. In-Q-My when I have high peformance requirements etc....
