Is anyone using or familiar with third party asset management software that integrates with SAP? I am trying to determine if our asset module needs to re-configured or if I can purchase third party software to fulfill our needs.
The goal of our company is to track additonal fields that pertain to the asset master record. A few examples of additional fields would be employee name, number,location, and serial number of asset. There are also many more fields we intend to add.
The problem we are having is that we are not currently using asset sub-numbers, and we are trying to determine if we can avoid it. An asset i.e. 52500 will contain many peripherals: monitor, keyboard, cpu, etc. We need to track the serial number for each peripheral and are currently doing this via a stand-alone system that does not communicate with SAP. There is an abundance of redundant data doing it this way, and we are looking to change this.
Any suggestions?
