DE-duplication online for Vendors and customer creation

Hi,

In our R/3 solution, all our MasterData for the globe is held in one box. - all transactional operation will be processed on regional system ALL R.3. MD data are then sent to these regional systems.

Since we will have all our Vendors and Customers on one Box, we need to be sure of the quality of data created there.

There is the issue:
=>SAP does not have any powerful tool which is doing on-line check during creation of Vendor/customer to avoid duplicates on specific criterion. It is existing a message control which is based on the matchcodes.. but it checks poorly 3 fields (standard matchcodes)... We would like to extend the check on more fields.

DO anyone have had such an issue and if he solved it, can he send me the solution he found. or the 3rd party product he used if that is a solution (Fuzzy search??)
