If memory serves, current replacement pricing can be used in a
joint venture environment. In SAP, the is part of the CA-JVA module(formerly IS-Oil U/S). When an item jointly owned by one venture is issued to a second venture, often the joint operating
agreements require a current market price to be used in the transaction rather than a moving average price commonly used in a
warehouse.
It has been a while since I've been involved in something like this. Perhaps someone with more current knowledge can also respond.
