URGENT!!!: Converting VL04 to VL10

We are in the middle of an R/3 Upgrade from 3.1H to 4.6C and just realized that our sceduled background jobs for VL04 will not run successfully. VL04 runs in a foreground dialog session but encounters a "Missing Input Value" error when executed in background.
SAP Documentation says to Convert this processing from VL04 to VL10 and schedule Report RVV50R10A,B,or C.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME AN OVERVIEW OF THE CONFIGURATION STEPS REQUIRED TO MAKE THIS CONVERSION.
