But it doesn't work ! Yes my equipment Category Group is setup for External Number Assignments, and for no internal number. I have verified my Serialization Procedure, and the SerUsage is set at 3. SAP gives me an error message "No number slot?(tranche in french) is assigned to the equipment category". I think SAP try to find an internal number during the serialization procedure, and me I want an external number for equipments.

: Make sure the Equipment Catagory Group is setup for External Number Assignments (Transaction OIEN). Then got to the Serialization Procedure, Transaction OIS2. Select the profile you are using then select the Serializing Procedure Folder on the left of the screen. Chances are the SerUsage (Serial Usage) is set at 4. Change it to 3 or 2. This should solve your problem.
