Make sure the Equipment Catagory Group is setup for External Number Assignments (Transaction OIEN). Then got to the Serialization Procedure, Transaction OIS2. Select the profile you are using then select the Serializing Procedure Folder on the left of the screen. Chances are the SerUsage (Serial Usage) is set at 4. Change it to 3 or 2. This should solve your problem.

: I assign serial numbers through goods movements with an automatic creation of equipment. SAP always choose the next internal number for the equipment (EQUNR), and I want to manage an external number on this equipment.
: How can I stop SAP during this processus to allow me to manage my own equipment number ?
