You are right in what you said, the only thing is what we are trying to do is basically use the DIEN material when we need to use more than one line in the billing for example you would have 1 line with the Labour amount and the fixed price for the material (meaning that we don't want to show the detail of all materials that will be used for the job we just want a single line stating "Material for Job" so we can go and add pricing conditions for that line and bill the client.

We use to be able to do this in previous versions(basically using the DIEN material has a patch to this quite unusual business practice but not uncommon) since the DIEN was setup without value it wasn't a problem but in the version we're on (4.6C) there are alot of links and triggers that don't allow us to do this.

We actually log a note to SAP in order to receive some help on this, if you could help us on this it would be great.

: You are right, there is no reason to enter a storage location for a service but there also is no reason to use a DIEN in a service order. DIEN's are mostly used for Service Contracts Order Type WV (TCODE VA41). If you want to charge a customer for service then either sell them a service contract and settle the Service Order to the Contract or if there is no contract then the charge for labor is tied to an activity type (material type DIEN) and when you confirm the Operations performed in a Service Order the labor charge will appear when you perform billing. Verify the process you are trying to perform.
