You are right, there is no reason to enter a storage location for a service but there also is no reason to use a DIEN in a service order. DIEN's are mostly used for Service Contracts Order Type WV (TCODE VA41). If you want to charge a customer for service then either sell them a service contract and settle the Service Order to the Contract or if there is no contract then the charge for labor is tied to an activity type (material type DIEN) and when you confirm the Operations performed in a Service Order the labor charge will appear when you perform billing. Verify the process you are trying to perform.
