Reservation (within PM) is possible with deleted material

Hi Sappers
I have a reservation that is generated automatically by the system when my user saves a Work Order (in Plant Maintenance Module) on 08/09/2001. However, the material that is being referenced by the Work Order was deleted entirely from the Material Master on 06/09/2001, which is a much earlier date than the transaction that has taken place. May I know whether this transaction is allowed to take place ? If not, how should I correct the error ? We are on 3.1H.
