BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1

I am calling BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1 from my application using JCO. I have supplied all the parameter values to the structures PI_PERSONALDATA and PI_COPYREFERENCE in the import parameter, the other structures are blank in the import parameters. I get an error "invalid address text"

what could have gone wrong ?? I get the same message when i execute the BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1 using tcode se37 supplying the same values as i provide in the application

any answers out there ??
