B1003 - deactivate distribution model for message type

I created a message type for outputting an idoc. Then I removed the message type from WE20 and from BD64. But now I get the above error when I run my transaction. Please can you shed some light as to what I have forgotten to remove.
The message displayed is

'Maintain recipients in your customer distribution model
for this message type or deactivate distribution for
these message types.'

How do I deactivate distribution model for these message types ?
