BAPI calls from MS ACCESS get memory errors

We developed our own BAPI to perform results recording and make a usage decision. The results recording BAPI works fine, but the usage decision BAPI gets a memory error 20% of the time, with the exact same data.

MSACCESS caused an invalid page fault in
module MSVCRT.DLL at 016f:780102ba.

After this failure, I can go back in to the ACCESS database and rerun the code and it may work a few times before it fails again.

We are running MS ACCESS 97. Please let me know what I can do to debug this or what additional information I could provide which would help anyone diagnose this problem.
