If the transport request is deleted, it will not be transp[ortable to production, but the table changes will remain in the development client. This will result in corruption of your configuration when a future transportaffects these tables!
The only way to preserve system integrity is to reverse all table changes, and send both the original transport and the correction transport to production. The reversal transport will reverse the errors of the original. If you don't reverse all the changes correctly in the reversal transport, then you will get unwanted configuration in production. However, these are correctable, while if both transports are deleted after reversing the table changes, if all changes are not correctly reversed, then at some stage in the future you will get untraceable configuration problems.
If transports are not transported in the order they were created, similar problems can occur, where Development and Production configuration increasing deviate.
This is a perennial R/3 issue, and if enough errors are made and not correctly fixed, over time the Development client becomes effectively corrupt, and must be refreshed with the production configuration. How long this takes is dependant on the successful control of the transport strategy - poor change control can result in a development client becoming corrupt within a few months.
In the most extreme case I have seen, one site managed to disable both their payroll processing and payment program processing. Be careful!!!!!!!
