asset retirement date

when using tcode f-92 to sell asset to a known customer i have a wrong asset retirement date. i have use investment order to settle against asset. supposingly i try to sell the asset on 17th september 2001, the system will try to calculate the depreciation value up to 30th september and thus give me a wrong asset retirement date. i am using a daily deprecation method. please advise .. what i have done wrong here.
