requisition for asset

hi,
from organizational point of view it might be difficult to create asset master data before purchase (unadequate data, company policy and so on)
to aolve this kind of problem, it is stated in the SAP online help that we could create requisition w/o account assignment, and create master data after that.
i try to do this, but the system stated that i must enter material number (which i dont have for assets) or account assignmemt category ...
what is the best solution for this issue, and how i create requisition w/o account assignment and w/o material number?
