Hi did you take a look at PBS Archiving solution for SAP.
This is a software solution . It can be installed in days .Once installed it provides you with the same access including full drill down and document flow that you had ibefore the data was archived.
You use standard SAP methods- transaction codes, menu path and ABAP to access and report on archived or current data.
It provides full integration between SAP data even if one component was archived and the other was not.
Take SD for example. If you archived the order but not the realted accounting document or invoice etc. PBS allows you to access all of them at the click of the mouse.
A very Slick solution as many would say.
I can do a live demo. for your company as well. This solution saves a lot of access headaches and users do not have to learn anything NEW.
