Organizing Development Resources

My company has entered the ongoing support mode for SAP. We are running the SD, PP, MM, PM, FI, CO, and HR (PA/PD) modules. While the development team is SAP-centric, it also supports VB and MS Access development. I am looking to understand how other companies (now in support mode as opposed to project mode) have organized their development teams. Currently, on our team (6 people), everyone covers everything. I am concerned about covering the modules as well as the tool set (SAPscript, idocs, etc) in the most effective manner.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
