Can BW be a complete Reporting Solution ?

We have a desire to move as much reporting as possible off of our R/3 TPS system and into our BW Data Warehouse. To accomplish this there is a desire to move entire "Infomation Areas" into BW at a time. Meaning that all relevant data for Accounts Receivable (for example)would be migrated into either the ODS or into Infocubes, prior to there being a clear definition of the reporting needs that will follow. The belief is that if we move all the relevant data objects into BW then once there we will be able to answer future reporting needs as they arise without a lengthly development cycle.

Has anyone done anything similar to this concept or are you just creating Infocubes to answer specific reporting needs as they are identified.
