This is just really a question of defining a number range for the correct subgroup.
The subgroup takes the format xxyy, where xx is the plan version you are using, and yy is the object type.
In the case of customer tasks, the object type is 'T'. If you are using plan version '01', your subgroup should be '01T'; input this as a new entry on the first screen, then define an internal number range using code 'IN'.
That should do the trick!
Incidentally, it is not imperative to complete this particular customising activity for your workflow to function successfully.
I've never used it once!
