MM : Cancel Invoice

We are using standard task 407917 to cancel Invoice, after workitem(WI) appears in inbox and once we execute the WI it is taking back to user menu rather than getting back to inbox.
If I comeback and execute WI again then it takes back to MR08 Tx and then only the WI gets completed.

Any lights on this typical behaviour.
