Message setting - RFQ

Postby krishyd on Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:48 pm

Dear All,

Client requirement is while sending RFQ to vendors he dont want to give del.date as vendors in response to RFQ they give their delivery period.

To address this scenorio:

I have set message 06 066 - del date should be later than sub.date

to warning message from error.

This is working correctly (i.e displaying as warning message) if I directly create a RFQ & not entering delivery date. The delivery period given by vendor, I am entering in PLanned Del time field. So when I create PO with ref to RFQ, system calculating Del.date by taking this period.

But when I create RFQ with reference to Prchase Req., this message is appearing as error message as it supposed to be warning message.
So, that I could not be able to proceed further.

Can anyone suggest me what more settings I need to do to convert this to warning message to meet client requirements.

Thank you

First of all, the delivery date you have sent out was purely what the end users would like to have for their purchased goods and/or services based upon your production and logistics planning. Of course, the vendor can counter offer with updated delivery date upon submission of the quotation which will be taken into due consideration during price comparison and vendor evaluation process. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that the delivery date shall be made in the RFQ form.

Cheers,
