Regarding the Size of the DatabaseI just had this post locked because I hijacked it:
http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=35045 For the record - yes I did it - I broke the rules....but frankly, it's getting really difficult to search for solutions and I thought this was the best approach. By hijacking the post, it eliminated yet another unresolved question/posting for an *identical* question/issue. I'm estimating that over 50% of the stuff I look for has one reply - "use the search tool", or no replies at all. Can the admins just start deleting obvious stuff that should be searched? Can posts with zero replies after 60 days be purged? I think either of these will increase the use of the search tool by the entire user base. Thanks for reading. - meie0062

I sort of agree with meie0062 here... By hijacking an old thread in this instance, the Poster is proving that they have bothered to search the forum in the first place and are subsequently penalised for it... My interpretation of hijacking a thread as posting information completely irrelevant to the OP or the thread in general - much like SDN and GD How do you feel about that? Baz

Perhaps Pete would like to reconsider, it does seem a bit harsh...?

the correct way should be to create a new topic and say that you searched and find a similar topic... and provide the link.
but I understand your feelings, it`s not always a clean cut decision. SapFans Moderator

Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback HereHello - I tried to post a reply and got a message regarding "20 posts". I have posted a number of replies in the past. Can you explain what this rule means? Thanks.
To post a URL a user must satisfy the following: - Registered for seven days - Submitted 20 posts
Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback HereYou may have posted a number of replies, but not 20 (17 at time of my reply).
I assume it is to stop the auto-PHP spam engines. Just post another 3 and you'll be fine. If you know anything about motorbikes, you could use one up by helping me Former SAP PM, looking to move in Lawn Mower business
Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback Hererje,

Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback HereSorry POD - apparently replying to your question is spamming - I will try to reform myself.
Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback Here..also .. I'm not trying to provoke anything ......... I have been using this site for many years and have found a great deal of helpful information. I have also tried to help others when I had an answer. This is the first time I have run into this message and I was just trying to find out why. My reply to a post in the "Financials" forum was a simple sentence, no graphics, no links - so I don't understand the URL reference in the error message. Thank you.
Re: Basic Rules 2008 - Submit All Feedback Hereok, I probably misunderstood what you were trying to do, email addresses and http links are not allowed, except after 20 posts. I understand now that you made a test.
your post probably contained the '@' sign. SapFans Moderator

Re: Basic Rules 2009 - Submit All Feedback HereIf I find someone with the knowledge of a particular topic in Jobs forum and I want to ask him/her the question about a topic for which I do not get any reply on Financials forum, is it OK to refer this question in Jobs forum and request for a reply for the topic in Financials forum? Basically I want to request them to look at the question in Financials forum and reply to that in FInancial forums itself.
Thanks.
Re: Basic Rules 2009 - Submit All Feedback Hereno, you should not post questions in the wrong forum, even if they seem to be posting in another forum.

Re: Basic Rules 2009 - Submit All Feedback HereI have submitted two problems this week and cannot find either of them. Have they been deleted/moved and if so why.
Thanks Bob
