Please reply here if you have any specific search errors...

Update: It looks as if the search function only works on topics posted since the new edition was published...

The owners of the site are trying to fix this as soon as possible [I hope!].

To administrators/moderators,
The search function seems to be not working as it used to work in the previous format. If I want to search topics on barcoding and enter barcoding it returns me no results when infact there are several posts on barcding across various forums. Is the search function broken ? Is it being worked on ?

Search seems to be working but only returning hits for threads that have been updated recently - eg if I search SM37 in the Security forum I get one hit for an old topic which was recently updated. Hope that's of some help.

I suggest to change search function on the new SAPFANS website based on the function of search on the old website. To be honest, the old one is more powerful and simple.

I have found a workaround, of sorts.

A site called Board reader will search on the old SAP Fans posts. I've done a few tests which seem to have worked. YMMV however. I found including SAP in the search criteria helpful, also experimented with terms SAPFans and possum.

I did find the repsonse time (after clicking on a result) somewhat variable, sometimes quite fast, other times slower than three legged dachshund in a snowdrift.

Surely this is just a setting in the admin panel? All the old topics are still available, but only new or recently updated topics are appearing in the search hits. Been a while since I ran a phpbb board, but I'm pretty sure the admin control panel has some search settings - eg only show newly updated topics in search results. We could really do with having this sorted out...

I tried searching for the word 'print'. I got a few hits that were from today, and the rest were from 2003 and earlier. Further searches yiedled the same results. I would either get a hit from today and 2003 and earlier, or just posts that were made in 2003 and earlier.

I can not search even in my own topics.
I have tried to find my topic with "clearing account" AND "malgo" - doesn't work.
So I pur "clearing account" and "malgo" in Search for author - doesn't work.

It is not so important, I have only 582 topics, but if I want to search for one topic from Svetja, and I can find any, it will be a "katastrof" for me and others ...

I dont belong to your everyone.
It is a human flaw to always want the old things and times back (I would like it too if my wife would be forever 25). We all are working in computer business. The time is running .......if you think this layout is not good, then I am curious what you say in 1 or 2 years when it probably changes the next time.
Get used to it, changes are part of your profession and life, and not all changes are liked. In 2 weeks you will probably not be able to explain how the old forum looked.
If you would participate more than just 8 times in 2 years, then you could get quicker used to the new layout.

It is not the layout, it is the content, that makes this forum invaluable.
