Cannot plan, delete and convert plan orders to prod orders

Post by plsim » Mon Oct 09, 2006 10:01 pm

We just upgrade our APO system from 3.0A to 4.1. However when doing the testing in APO, we encounter a few issue:

1. Planned order disappeared after save in product planning table althought the message said that “In-house production created successfullyâ€

Hi plsim,

The easiest way to resolve the problem is to create SAP OSS message. I believe guys from SAP support can help you.

For the planned orders that appear to get saved but you cannot see them, have you looked for them at the end of your PP/DS horizon ? If yo uhave not assigned a handling resource to the 000 model or if your resources have no valid working time for the dates that you are creating the orders the strategy may reschedule them to the first valid period of time (which may be many weeks/months away).

Also check your strategy, if you are using the APPEND AT END it will always place new orders after the last existing order (and this too may be many weeks/months away).

In both of these cases you will receive the "successful planning" message as the system logic has been adhered to, it jsut may not be what you wanted.

As for the ATP error, this is a beast that is best left alone in the early stages of testing. I suggest that you do the following to start with and then reintroduce the ATP logic bit by bit.

- Set all of your materials in R/3 to a KP ATP check
- Remove the ATP checks for these materials from any active integration models (use CFM5 to make sure that you have done this)
- Remove all ATP settings from the APO product master data
- Try converting the orders once again

If this is successful, correct the ATP status of the materials that you wish to check in R/3 but only include the ATP checks for those materials that are planned in APO in the integration models. For example, in our case we ATP check constrained finished and semi-finished goods in APO. For unconstrained SFGs and raw and packaging materials we either don't check them or we check them in R/3. In both cases we assign them different MRP controllers and we exclude these MRP controllers from the integration models.
