I'm trying to create an InfoObject that is going to hold longtext data. The problem I have is that I want to define the infoobject to have a length of 132 chars. When I try to do this in BW I get a message stating that an infoobject can only be 60 chars long.

Is it possible to increase the maximum size of an infoobject in BW, or is there a workaround so I can store all of the data in BW?

Sorry, but you'll have to break it into two/three fields. If you think about it, it makes sense, since we rarely do analysis on such fields.

Best of luck,

Split them into 3 fields and make the atrribute not navigational. Don't navigate on such attributes. This is just addional information and in reporting they waste a lot of space.

My advice:
Shorten the text. We did away with souch fields. There is no need for these fields in the OLAP reporting mart, useless.
