Does anyone even use Lotus Notes anymore ? That should be synonomous with Lotus 1-2-3 by now

But of course! It's still a useful tool for quick and dirty simple database needs like logs, simple workflow processes etc.

The big drawback is that the database can never be truly relational and people attempt to do things with it that it will simple never do well ....... I know outfits who try to build stuff that is to be used globally and fail to understand the huge replication overhead they have to deal with.

Lotus Bloats is is a huge memory and bandwith hog, but, as a mail system, it's still way ahead of that exchange crap.

BTW ... I have used many spreadsheets on various levels of platforms for over 26 years and, good 'though Excel has become over the years, I always preferred 1-2-3 as a properly designed program that did what a spreadsheet was meant for, without all this VB crap that makes people imagine that they can program with a spreadsheet!

If no user can log into Notes instant messaging, begin with Section 1.
If most users can log into Notes instant messaging, but a few cannot, skip to Section 2.
