list of incorrect logons

Post by st » Wed Oct 30, 2002 3:25 am

Hi.
Where it is possible to see the list of incorrect logons, including attempts of logons of nonexistent users?
I know report RSUSR006, but it shows incorrect logons of only existing users.
Is such information fixed somewhere?
Thank.

SAP does not track invalid logon attempts with non existant ids in their standard functionality. Thoght US corporations thinks this is important info SAP basically says, no-existant ID's cannot logon, why track keypunch errors....
THere is an outside chance the audit info system SM20 may track this info, but it must be turned on.

In 4.6 you can use SUIM to see which existing users have incorrect logons. I'm not sure if this exact option is available in other releases.

When in SUIM expand the User area and you should see "List of User Master Records locked due to incorrect logons" The description is a bit deceptive, because the result displays number of incorrect logons for users who not locked out too, and it shows users locked by administrator.

It is not a historical report, it just shows current status.

SM20 will show non-existant logon id attempts. It has helped me on occasion troubleshoot why a user was having a problem.
