Can you help me about material determination?

Material determination is used as a link betwaeen PS and sd interface. Sales order processing i.e billing request creation or billing doc requires items in form of materials i.e service material or physical material.

When you run DP transactions for resource related billing , various item(i.e materials, services, general cost, activities) in form of characteristics are summarised and copied to the billing request items. This flow requires that some materials must be determined and substituted while copying.

This is done through the material determination in DIP Profile. First you select the characteristics as relevent for material determination.

Create the relevant materials. In the DIP profile enter the materials to be determined for different combination of characteristics with their set id.
