MRP to Order Expired Quanity of Stock Materials

Postby saali » Thu Jul 06, 2017 12:10 am

Dear all,

When a stock material has expired (expiry date entered at GR time for Batch Management items), we want MRP to order same quantity of expired material.
How can we configure. Please assist.

Hi,

The standard MRP functionality won't take into account the expiry date of the stock items. Therefore, there are two alternative system enhancement options you can consider -
1) Enhance (via BAdI implementation) the MRP program; or
2) Build the program to be periodically run to check the expiry date of the stock items and perform the automatic SLOC-to-SLOC 311 / 301 transfer posting to move these ''expired'' quantities to either logical ''obsolete stock'' SLOC or plant location so that they won't be taken into account during the next MRP run.

Personally, I would go for Option 2 as any MRP program enhancement will have the impact onto all stock items.

Cheers,
HT
