Wow.
When this becomes the norm, I can see myself with a sign along the highway: "Will ABAP For Food".

Hello,
my two cents: I am not a freelancer. In Germany the rates seems to be 85 Euro = 100 $.
That make 13.600 a month (if you calculate with 160 h a month). But you must see what you have to pay from this: taxes, health insurance, financial security (if you are old), reserves when you do not get job, reserve for vacation and a risk bonus for being a freelancer. You have also pay education with your own money (SAP courses are not cheap).
Because if you are not a freelancer you do not have to care about several things, e.g. you get paid vacation, you have a health insurance etc.
So I think 33 $ is a joke. If you call a craftsman here, they work for 35-40 euro an hour. So Whoa_Nellie if you like to work for that rate, that is your problem. I think most people here would not.
Regards

Re: A new low
As far as $33/hr is concerned....
....if that ever becomes the 'norm' for our trade, I'm going back to the halcyon days of dairy farming.
(Sarcasm setting back to 'off' mode.)
Good grief, the car dealerships charge the better part of $100/hr or more around here.

Get a bunch of power tools and work as handyman, if you can.
You can easily charge the same and sleep in your own bed every night.
Plus you create something other than system dumps.
We all know that the H1B folks have ruined the market in the US.
As for Apple, I am not so sure they have a very lucky hand with their consultants.

I realize there is probably a language barrier, nicht wahr? But the little "non-smiley" icons should have given it away nevertheless...waltersen wrote:Hello,

Hello,
seems that I have missed your ironic component. I beg your pardon.

I don't think the barrier was on your end. I got it, I think, but then I am a Fischkopf.Whoa_Nellie wrote:I realize there is probably a language barrier, nicht wahr? But the little "non-smiley" icons should have given it away nevertheless...waltersen wrote:Hello,

Wait, I am a transported Fischkopf, now I am a California native

But yeah, if the rate is getting that low, I rather get a trailer, load up a ladder and power toys and work that route.
No worries, at $33 all you get is "fix it again" kind of people.
Re: A new low
Hey just wait another couple of years. It may get down to $15/hr and we can say do you want fries with the config?
