SAP SF vs workday et al ... any thoughts pls?

Postby Count » Mon Sep 15, 2014 6:35 pm

g'day folks...
background: customer is already an sap shop...
can I please request your opinions on :
1. what solution is best for hcm --> SF or workday or other? and why?
2. pros and cons for the above.
3. is hybrid solution a good idea? if yes is it possible to have a hybrid between sap hcm on-prem and workday-cloud? Anyone done this before?
4. I am not handson in sf but have closely monitored atleast one major sap-hcm on-premise with sf-cloud project,.. the point is I do have some ideas on that front and am working towards gaining more knowledge/experience in the near future.
5. Wanted to get to know the sf-competetion as well.

thank you all for your thoughts,... (baz/mhunkey-man... pls share your thoughts if you are around ).... will award virtual-beer-points :)

cheers
c.

1. what solution is best for hcm --> SF or workday or other? and why?

>> SF as there is now alot of standard Integration between the products

2. pros and cons for the above.

>> Depends on customer requirements, i'd go with the 2 products SAP owned.. more support better integration

3. is hybrid solution a good idea? if yes is it possible to have a hybrid between sap hcm on-prem and workday-cloud? Anyone done this before?

>> Hybrid is the only choice going forward you will have now between SAP/SF. You can have on prem / cloud hybrid with either SF or Workday. I have not heard of an SAP customer using Workday intergated to SAP (not saying it hasnt happened but haven't heard about it).

4. I am not handson in sf but have closely monitored atleast one major sap-hcm on-premise with sf-cloud project,.. the point is I do have some ideas on that front and am working towards gaining more knowledge/experience in the near future.

>> I have worked in HCM On Prem / SF Cloud & are currently working on a SAP HEC (Hana Ent Cloud) / SF Cloud

5. Wanted to get to know the sf-competetion as well.
