Planned order generated for phantom assembly

Postby Faizul » Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:28 am

Hi all,
Currently am facing an issue with the phantom assembly. The semifinshed product is a phantom assembly with 2 components in it.
After running MRP for a stock reservation for the phantom assembly, the system generates a planned order for the phantom assembly material.
Why is it so ?Actually the system should not generate planned orders for the phantom assembly.
Please clarify.

Regards,
Faizul

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The SP key 50 is already maintained for the phantom assembly.Even though i get a planned order generated for the phantom material after the MRP run.

YOu have to maintain the assembly as phantom assly in the bom.
There is a tick in the bom. If you maintain this tick, system won;t generate planned order for phantom assly.

Hi Faizul,

Have you maintain any explosion type in your phantom assembly BOM? If you don't want system generated planned order for your phantom assembly you should not maintain this indicator (if maintain it will overide the standard ways).

Just put SP key 50 in your phantom assembly and maintain it's BOM component.

Hi Faizul,

Is your problem resolved or still live?

Let us know whether you maintain stock of the Phantom assembly?(Is it a spare item?)

If not then how are you going to serve the reservation or why is a stock reservation created( To my understanding the reservation you are talking about is not a dependent requirement from a production order). Generally the Stock reservation is created with Movement allowed check box activated, if you dont want this.... then remove it before saving the reservation

It looks that system is working fine...

Post you feedback.... if you still have issues, post more details on your scenario...

Did you have a resolution to this issue? We are experiencing the same issue here. We have thousands of stock planned orders (type LA) created and we are not sure why or how to have MRP stop creating these orders.

Thanks,

Anybody solve the problem?
We also faced it.
Planned order created by MRP for phantom material because there is no BOM work for it.
How to stop this type planned order creation?

Thanks and BR,
Danica

First of all, you have to cclarify why phantom has got a reservation, you have to check the pegged requirement of this phantom parts. Usually it should not happen. Phantom can get a planned order only when it has requirement.
If you create a sales order for a phantom, then run MRP, absolutely you will get a planned order of it.
