IDOC to text file

Postby calin » Thu Dec 19, 2013 9:26 am

Hello Gurus,

We are using SAP ECC 6.0 without PI and need to download Production Order data in a text file to be used by a non-sap system. I think we can use Idoc LOIPRO01 as Idoc process generation includes obtaining data and mapping it to a definded structure. I used other Idocs before only to be sent and received by sap systems.

In this case I would like to know if and Idoc could be downloaded to a text file in a server directory (from this server directory the other system will take the text file) and what would be the structure of this text file.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Calin

When you define the Partner profile in WE20, you specify which port to use for outbound IDocs.
Use a File port, and specify in this port (WE21) the destination directory.
You'll also have to choose a function module for the file name determination (a few standard ones exist, you can create your own).

The text file will have one control segment in the first line, followed by the data segments (flat text, no separator).
Have a look in WE60 to find the definitions of these segments.

ETA: note that you can also get it in xml format, using an XML file port.
