Manual inspection lot and stock movement

Postby Zebuth » Thu Sep 13, 2012 10:05 am

Hi dear QM colleagues.
Ok I know what you think in reading my mail : "One more who ask us to do a stock movement with a manual inspection lot" !
Yes, but me, it is a little different :
In case of non conformity detected during production, but due to the vendor (incoming inspection closed), I need to influence Quality level. Of course, it is easy to change the QL (QDL2), but if I do that, my dynamisation will restart at the begining with the inspection stage I put. What I want is to put a rejected UD in order my dynamisation rule calculates QL where it stopped before.
So I thought to create a manual inspection lot with origin "01", and to find a solution like "follow-up action" when I take UD for example. Or other solution.
Have you already done something like that ?
Thank you.

I would think this has to be a manual process.

I think I understand what you want.

SAP has this as a manual process because how would you know where in the receipt process the failure really happenned?

Lets say I receipt in five shipments in a month and all five pass.
Now in production I find the problem with the batch received on the second shipment of the month. I have three good GR's after the shipment that I know was the bad one.

My current stage would show 5 good receipts in a row.
Normally the bad shipment would be a stage change and my count SHOULD be on the initial stage with 3 good shipments afterwards. I THINK that is what you want to do. But what if my initial stage only required two good shipments to go to a reduced testing level. Would you want the system to go to the second stage of reduced testing now? Or make them go back to the initial stage?

It wold be almost impossible for SAP to put an automated process in place. So you almost have to do this manually. I think in your case, you just don't want to always go the begining of a stage either. You want to go to the begining of the stage plus "X" goods receipts. That is not possible to the best of my knowledge.

Thank you Craig.
I understand your explaination, but when you ask me "how would you know where in the receipt process the failure really happenned?", I agree, but we accept this error or vagueness.
But as I read you, I realise my question is not precised enough ! My best problem is to generate this appropriate stock movement when I take a bad UD from Production for example, in order to put concerned material in bloked stock. It was because I talked about follow-up action, as a potential idea.
In waiting your comments.
Regards.
