Why is it so difficult to purchase the SAP BSP book?

Post by DrSidewalk » Thu Sep 06, 2012 7:32 am

I've been trying to help a friend to acquire the "advanced bsp programming" book produced by SAP Press. He looked through my book and decided that he wanted to acquire said book. When he mentioned that he was having a hard time ordering it I decided to help out, but then discovered that it is indeed very difficult to source. Just noticed that even SAP-PRESS.com no longer show it, at least when searching for 'BSP' or 'advanced bsp programming'. Amazon have it for £300, but who in their right mind is going to pay that. Just been looking through the second hand book shops (online) as well. Still no joy though.

Should it be this difficult?.

I think that the problem is probably that the website which sells it is using the CRM Internet Sales application and it is probably down most of the time.
In my opinion, Pepper Spray is underutilized as an effective tool for scope control

I would send an e-mail to Brian McKellar and ask him. He is a co-author of this book.

I think SAP is trying to discourage us to continue using BSP. It's easy, its learning curve is smooth and it works. Why the hell SAP will want to continue providing a tool that works? The future is WebDynpro, or Java, or any other old technology with a hard learning curve and a lot of bugs.

Why can't he plainly steal the book from you? Give him hints...a nudge here and there. Does he visit SAPFANS?

He probably has, but the Doc doesn't want to say so and he's got a BSP contract coming up.
