Print Country Name in Recipient Language using MEDRUCK Form

Postby Monika » Tue Oct 22, 2002 5:45 am

Dear All,
Please, could somebody advise to me with my aim to print text name of recipient country in his language ?

What was done up to now is:
1. In Customizing>Global settings>Set countries>Define countries>on Detail screen the Flag: Print country name in foreign addresses was choosen.
In response the country name is printed as we need.
The n e w p r o b l e m is that it is in sender language
instead of receiver language what we would like.

2. So our programmer have done the special flag Print country name in recipient language in the print program SAPFM06P additionally.
Unfortunately the text name of country next disappeared.

3.So the program change went back.

Temporarily we can use the possibility of the function without language specification and next logon in recipient language to system.
But we have some problems with users to do it.

Anyone suggestion will be very appreciated !!!

Thanks for your help in advance,

Monika

Hi Monika,

Is the countries name available in recipients language? You can check this in OY01, select your destination country and from menu GOTO > Translation. Select then the desired language.

From where do you pull the recipients language? customer master or from this country table?

Print Country Name in Recipient Language using MEDRUCK Form

Postby Monika » Wed Oct 23, 2002 2:16 am

Hi Svetja,

Thank you very much for your reply.
I can see that the countries names in this table are available only in our and English languages.

I thing the language must come from vendor master (Field data: ADDR1_DATA-LANGU).

I am not programmer so I can´t how to check the print prog.SAPFM06P.
How should I do it ?

If communication language in vendor master is for example spanish, then you need to have the countries name in spanish, too.
I guess the print programm was correct, it did not find a country name in the desired language, so it did not print a name.
Analyze how many different languages you have in your vendor masters, decide if you want use all of them in future, translate alle necessary IMG tables (country name, payment terms, shipping conditions, ...) into this languages.
Or let the programmer make an additional condition, like if country name is not available then print country name in english.
