error message to UD inprocess insp lot during CO15

Dear forum members,
For a semifinished material I have

1. Activated 03 and 04 inspection types (with early lot creation and without post to inspection stock check for 04) with relevant inspection plans.
2. Production order is created and release, as expected it created 2 inspection lots with origin 03 and 04
3. Before posting the GR, results were entered for the samples of both inspection lots and entered UD only for 04 inspection lot because, I want to UD the 03 inspeciton lot with QA40/QA41.
4. When I am confirming the production order in CO15, system throwing error message "The usage decision for inspection lot has not been made yet Message no. QV102"

Usually inprocess lots can be UD'd with a batch job after production orders are confirmed, but in my system it is strange why I am getting error message to finish the UD for inprocess insp lot before order confirmation ? !!
Can any one give me suggestions what I missed in my configuration or execution ?

PS: FYI, my OPK4 setting is "Operation sequence not checked"

With an 03 lot, you must have activity on at least one MIC in the lot before you can confirm.

I.e. it must have a status of INSP on it.

Also, be careful.. If results from the 03 lot can transfer to the batch record, then you might find the 03 values on the batch instead of the 04. Whichever lot is UD'd last updates the batch record.

Yes my '03' inspection lot has status 'INSP' , but still I am not able to confirm my production order without making the UD for the '03' lot.
FYI, the MICs that I am using in '03' inspection plan are not linked to any class characteristics, only my '04' plan MICs are linked

Do any of your operations require confirmation of a previous operation to be completed?

No Craig, my OPK4 setting is "Operation sequence not checked". If this is what you asked.

Also, when I was saving my inprocess insp lot sample results, system is asking to enter yield quantity. I don't want that, do you know how to eliminate it ?

Yes. Check the control key used. It must be requiring confirmation.

No my QM control key doesn't require confirmation, but still it is asking me to enter the yield quantity during the saving of sample results I would appreciate if you can let em know a way to turn off this.

By the way, I found the reason for my original issue, i.e. error message to finish inprocess UD during production order confirmation. In my system someone added a check to see the field field QALS-STAT35 in the exit ZXCOFU14.

You are talking about the 03 lot right? This would be the control key in receipe.

Yes I am talking about the '03' inspection lot. When I am saving the sample results it is asking me to enter the yield even though my PP routing's QM operation control key is not needing confirmation.

are you using partial lots? verify in the master recipe the field "partial lot assignment", verify also in the "QM data" for the operation if you have an inspection point completion with quantity...

Thanks Bertha, You answered my quesiton.
In the inspeciton point completion field of operation, it was defaulted as 'qty,valuation,confirmation'. I now changed it to 'auto valuation' and saving sample results is no longer asking me to enter the yield qty.

Is there any configuration to default this field to 'Automatic valuation' ?

QM settings for your plant in customizing.... and the option you choose in the header of the master recipe.... there could be as well an user parameter...
