MM02 Lot size question

Postby mightybhwk » Tue May 01, 2012 11:31 am

Hi all,

I was looking to setup a product to have a HB code (Replenish to maximum stock level) as the lot size. I have setup the min and max lot size to the same amount and set my max stock level. The issue I am having is that it will create planned orders to fill to the max stock level but it will plan them all on the same day. Is there a way to limit one lot per day?

Thanks for any help.

Randy

What's your MRP type? HB kind of lot size key goes well with consumption based MRP types like V1 etc.

Can you give the numbers - what's your driving demand (indepdnent + dependent) and what are your parameters used - min/max lot sizes and max stock level?

Dependent demand is what driving the planned orders. For a test, I have created the min and max lot size to the batch size. 10,700# and for the max stock level I set it for 32,100#. It will create the planned orders, I just want to limit it to only one planned order a day. So in therory, if I was empty, it would create three planned orders over a period of three days to hit the 32,100# max lot size. Right now it is creating three planned order on one single day. I would then manually spread them out.

so you wanted to get the total 32,100 but spreadout over a 3 day period 10,700 each? Is that why you specified min and max lot sizes? but instead you're getting 3x32,100?

I think you need to blank out min and max lot sizes and let it generate 1 single planned order for 32,100 based on max stock level. then you may have to use a distribution function to spread out the production across 3 days.

No our batch size is 10,700# I am getting 3x10,700# but all on the same day. We are only capable of producing one 10,700# batch per day. So if I was empty I need the system to create 3-10,700# planned orders over a three day period. One per day.
