A line item in a PO was deleted , however the invoice of this line item was made.
What would have gone wrong

Nothing is wrong - once the business transactions are complete, it is possible to delete the item.
Good luck!

the deletion indicator is used for mainly 2 reasons.
a) to tell a vendor that you dont want this item anymore
b) to prepare the PO for archiving when the business process is complete.

if you get an invoice for a deleted PO item, then you have to ask yourself if this invoice is correct. if you have not received anything and the PO item is cancelled, then it is unusual that you receive an invoice. Hence you should look for something that restricts the accountants from posting an invoice for delete PO items, instead of looking for an option to not allow to delete a PO item.

if you have received the material and then the PO item was deleted why should it then stop invoice posting? you got the material, so you have to pay the material.
Or do you get an error message which restricts invoice posting?
if not, what problem do you then have with a deletion indicator?

deleted item is possible to undo in ME22N, then the invoice is in front of.

item on PO can not be deleted if there is a GR already made.
The invoice should come in front of received items.
