SAP PM Order Types

Postby NITHIN4 » Fri Mar 23, 2012 9:50 am

Hi All,

We have created new PM ordertypes based on the business requirement.Do I need to delete the SAP delivered order types (PM01/PM02 etc) or do I need to keep them.

I know we did both ways.I am looking for best practice here.

Only the reason to keep them is for reference in future for std settings.

Thanks

Typically speaking, customers either use the SAP standard naming convention (e.g. PM01, PM02, etc) then add their own e.g. PM08, PM09, etc.

Or they disallow the standard order types (by number range or plant assignment) and create their own. Examples may be:
- YPM1 or ZPM1 for copies of PM01
- Or more useful naming like PMO for a planned maintenance order, and CMO for corrective maintenance order

Its not very common to see both...

Hi Nithin,

I would suggest, Use the same Order Types Delivered by
SAP, Which are not usefull, you can delete them.

Thanks
