Hello,
Is there any easy way to renumber MICs ?
The field MERKNR is greyed. So the only solution I see is to delete the MICs and reinsert them in the correct order. Is there any other way ?
Thanks very much for your help.

QP02 : Renumber MICsHello,

Re: QP02 : Renumber MICsYou can change the number range and reload them.
But why? I can't think of any reason why it would be important to have MIC's in a certain order. As you add new MIC's, any ordering logic would be messed up. And I've haven't heard of a real business, (i.e. $$$$ or regulatory), reason that doing this adds value. I would really like to understand the requirement for this. Craig
Re: QP02 : Renumber MICsThanks Craig for your reply.
Actually, sometimes on the drawing of the material the measurements are displayed with a number. So QM people would like to sort the MICs respecting this list of numbers. This gives a certain logical way to proceed to the inspection. I think SAP greys the number in order to avoid inconsistencies with conditional MIC, calculated characteristic and dynamisation depending on another MIC. Waebou
Re: QP02 : Renumber MICsCan you use the info 1, info 2 or info 3 fields in the drawings instead? Or place a sort number in one of those fields and use that for placing them on the drawing?
Or can the description of the MIC be used instead for sorting? Craig
Re: QP02 : Renumber MICsuse of Info 1, 2 or 3 could be a good idea !
Thanks for the tip!
Re: QP02 : Renumber MICsOne other option is allow external numbering of your characterisitcs. Then load all your characterisitcs used in drawings into a specific number range. Like M-10010, M-10020, M-10030, etc.
By skipping numbers by 10 you can add in future ones. Use the internal number range for MIC's not used in drawings. Craig
