Resolved - Batch Derivation

Postby Craig » Mon Mar 19, 2012 7:03 am

I have an issue I haven't yet been able to resolve. Maybe someone here can point me in a direction to resolve it.

In Batch derivatoin, I have my receiver and sender records set up. I have it set up to transfer several characteristic values and the date of manufacture from a semi-finished good to a finished good. The semi-finished good is made in another plant where it is inspected and results recorded. It is STO'ed to the second plant. Undergoes work on a process order, another SG is made and used in the final process order. The finished good should wind up with the results from the first SFG at the first plant.

right now I'm just trying to get the manual derivation to work. When I run the manual derivation, only the date of manufacture is actually transferred the FG. The characterisitcs are not. When I review in the derivation monitor, the monitor shows all the characterisitcs with a green dot indicator along with the date of manufacture. But in MSC3n the characteristics are not are not showing any values. My sender and receiver records must be working because the DOM is being transferred. But why not the characteristic values?

Did you check the characteristics. Are they created in same plant and used them in both plants or created different characteristics for both plants?
Thanks

Characteristics for batch are not plant specific.

The characterisitcs are in the classes for both the sending and receiving materials.
In the derivation monitor, after running the manual derivation the actual values for the charateristics in the SFG are shown so it is finding them.

The characteristics in the receiving FG material must be the same or it wouldn't be looking for them to start with.

Craig,
Strange observation ! Just a few basics..When you see "Green Dot" in derivation monitor, I believe you are looking at the first screen once you run the monitor selection screen.
If you have planned 3 fields / characteristics for derivation, you should see 3 lines below the Green dot line which has the derivation record number. What do you see when you double click on that line with green dot? Upon double clicking it should show you details of sender and receiver values for all characteristics. Does that show values as you expect? And is that in spite of the display of right value transfer the resultant batch is not showing the transferred values?
I would also look at the receiver condition record and examine the Rules tab. Make sure that depending on the characteristics format, the comparative / Boolean / multiple value settings are correctly set. if you want, send me details in IM.

Yes.. under the green dot line, I see each characteristic listed and the dates and the correct value for all.

That's what I don't understand.

Resolved - Batch Derivation will not work if a material spec is used.

This check can be aovided by setting the parameter 'no_check_of_qm_char in the user exit EXIT_SAPLV01Z_012.

Still investigating to see what other affects the user exit might have.
