Planning Calendar - MTO

Postby erik0972 » Fri Jan 06, 2012 9:57 am

Does anyone have experience with planning calendars in a make-to-order environment?

Have a scenario where we would like to schedule deliveries every Friday ... have defined a planning calendar and lot-sizing routine .. all works well when the material is made or procured to stock
When the material is made to order, it appears that the planning calendar is ignored and the delivery dates are set to match the requirements date, ie. when the reqmts date = Wednesday, the order delivey date is Tuesday [has a 1 day GR time] instead of the preceeding Friday

Is this typical? or have I missed something in the configuration process?

Erik

Interesting question, and it very well might be the default behavor, never tested this.

But which Friday would you want it - the one before, and the one 2 days later to the Wednesday - assuming it works? Is there any MRP exception message?
