QN notification conversion

Postby AIZ » Fri Feb 10, 2012 1:30 pm

All,

Can anyone give guidance on Quality Notification as a conversion data object. Our client wants to upload the history of quality notifications from the legacy system. Any help on this will be appreciated.

Thanks

Think I would encourage them to only enter open issues. I've never had a client want to load that history. I think it would be very difficult to map some items since in SAP you'd have to map everything to catalog codes and such. If they can be mapped easily, then there probably wouldn't be an issue. Make sure all your workflow is disabled somehow before loading them.

Your stats might be off too since the notification creation dates would all be the same. You might need to find a way to address that.

Also, keep in mind that depending on your industry the notification number will probably not relate to the original paperwork and that can be an issue with some industries and auditors.

thanks for the response,

i agree it is not the traditional way to do things but existing QN's in legacy are in an SAP system with existing data. Mapping file is huge with over 300 fields. We are mapping object services as well to bring in the attachments. Huge task ahead , will let you know the results . Thanks for the tips. We dont use extensive workflow here
