Change owner of broadcaster setting

Post by xmchx » Thu Feb 09, 2012 8:59 am

Dear all,
it seems, that as sender Email-Adress the adress of the owner of a query broadcaster setting is used. We have to change the owner/sender. Is there a possibility to change the owner? The only possibility I found is to save the existing setting with "save as" and delete the existing setting.
Thanks,
xmchx

Why do you need tochange the owner? Just like query object, the owner belongs to the user who first created this

Hi xmchx,

An alternative is to consider creating a new dialog user account specifically for generic activities like job scheduling. This account does not belong to any specific user so it avoids the issue of scheduled jobs stopping when the original user account gets locked or deleted. Unfortunately this alternative solution also introduces an audit problem where it is harder to track who did what in the production system, especially when half a dozen people all have access to use the account. So use this option with caution and after consultation with the BW support team. Also take into consideration that a generic user account will probably still add to the total number of valid user accounts and may be counted in your current SAP license agreement.

Kind Regards,
John.
