Inspection Lot for rework material

Hi All,

I have requirement that one inspection lot number can be used many times.

So when usage decision is made, the material need to be rework and then back to be check with the same inspection number because the user need the history of this inspection lot. So they need to know how many times the rework be done until all the material can be accepted.

Can this requirement be done in SAP? or do you have any other suggest to provide this thing?

hi tania,

in my opinion, you could create inspection lots for rework material manually, in addition, you can enter the source inspection lot no. in the field QALS-KTEXTLOS, so you can count how many times the rework be done until all the material can be accepted according to field QALS-KTEXTLOS.

You could use inspection points for this. Each inspection point would be considered rework.

Hi Craig, I've done the inspection point. So i create PRO with trigger point to create operation rework PP07 and i already activate the QM in that control key. How can i inspect the rework material?

You just go to the original inspection lot and create a new inspection point. You can create as many as you want.

Are you using 03 lots?

YEAH True I'm using inspection type 03.

so first i have to inspect 10 pieces material. then i use confirmation yield 8 and rework 2.
then in the next inspection point i still can input 10 pieces right?
what i want is in the next inspection point user can only input result for the rework material.
Can i do that?

To be honest you'll have to try it.

None of my clients have ever done confirmations via the inspection lot. But I've always been in the chemical and pharm industries.

How to create the inspection point from inspection lot coz I am not seeing that feature in qa02? Do we have to go to a separate transaction or is it there in qa02?

If it's set up right, in QE51n you should see a line under the last results that says somehting like next point or new point or something like that. I can't remember off the top of my head and my current client doesn't use inspection points anywhere for me to even look.
