Credit LImit Check during Sales Order Change

HI. Can some SD guru weigh in on the changes to the Sales Order that trigger the Credit Check. I know if the release date is same date as the Change Date, the credit check is not done again. But if someone changes the Reference PO # after the release date, the credit check is not done but if you change items it is triggered. So I would like to know the criteria for Credit Checkwhen a Sales Order is changed on/after release date. Does the delivery check work the same way ?If you can give me the information or some sap documentation regarding this, it will be much appreciated.

Check the configuration of the Credit limit check, since here you can set something like critical fields.
