I have a generic material with certain variants, however want to assign new variants to the material.
In transaction CT04 created a new characteristic. Now I assign the transaction WG22 to characteristic the material group and gives the following error: Generic material already created.

It is possible to assign a new characteristic then there is a material created for this material group?
