Is Retail is surely a viable product. It also depends upon what u r looking for interms of functionalities or in terms of commercial viable solutions.

only down side is the Merchandise planning engine, which is comperatively
not as developed as few other Planning engine such as Arthur planning and MMS.

But in terms of other integrated modules apart from Retail Modules (RP / Store Sales / Merchndise Logistics) such as FI-CO / CRM and HRM no other
product has match to it globally.

If you will more specific in your requirement, the same can be addressed in defined and structred manner.
